BYD Lofts offers apartment-style living close to Patong Beach, with kitchens, separate living areas and a choice of buildings. Its studios, larger suites and pool-access categories differ enough that the room plan should lead the booking decision.

An apartment layout near the beach

BYD Lofts Boutique Hotel & Serviced Apartments is at 5/28 Haad Patong Road. Its official hotel page places the property near Patong Beach and describes furnished apartments with living space and kitchenettes. That makes it a different proposition from a conventional hotel bedroom, even when both are sold for the same number of nights.

The extra living space can be useful for a longer stay, a couple with different sleeping routines or a family that wants to prepare some meals. It does not mean every visitor will need the largest suite. A traveller spending the whole day outside may prefer a smaller layout and the same general location, while someone taking quiet afternoons indoors could use the extra room daily.

The building and the floor plan both matter

The official accommodation list places Deluxe Studios in an annex opposite the main building. It lists these at 40 square metres, one-bedroom Deluxe Suites at 65 square metres and main-building Grand Deluxe Suites at 100 square metres. Those differences are substantial. A studio and a large separate-bedroom suite should not be judged from the same set of expectations.

The two-bedroom options also vary: a main-building Grand Deluxe Suite is listed at 160 square metres, while the annex Penthouse is listed at 140 square metres. The word penthouse therefore does not automatically mean the largest floor area. The useful comparison is the actual layout, building and outside space rather than a ranking based solely on category names.

Pool access has more than one meaning here

The hotel advertises both a regular pool and a rooftop pool. A ground-floor Deluxe Pool Suite is a separate category from the top-floor Grand Deluxe Pool Access Suite, which connects with the rooftop pool from its terrace. The property’s room pages describe these as direct-access arrangements, not private pools reserved for a single apartment.

That difference matters for privacy and expectations. A terrace leading to a shared pool is convenient, but it remains beside an area used by other guests. Someone seeking a completely private plunge pool should not substitute pool access in their mind. Equally, a standard apartment elsewhere in the buildings should not be expected to open directly onto either pool.

Guest accounts support the self-catering appeal

A Tripadvisor guest described a particularly well-equipped kitchen, while another mentioned an induction hob, microwave, fridge-freezer, coffee maker and utensils. Those are accounts of the apartments used by those visitors, not a certified inventory for every category. They do support the practical appeal of staying somewhere designed for more than sleeping.

Guest feedback also praises the rooftop pool and the restaurant. Those facilities give visitors an alternative to cooking, which is useful when a kitchen is chosen for flexibility rather than a plan to prepare every meal. The hotel’s own description includes dining and room service, but meal plans and delivery arrangements should be checked against the rate and service offered at the time.

A residential feel without leaving Patong

The three-building layout is part of BYD’s identity. It can create an apartment-based stay within a busy resort town, while putting different rooms at different distances from the pools and main services. A photograph of the rooftop pool does not show the route from an annex studio, just as a main-building suite image does not establish the outlook of a penthouse elsewhere.

BYD Lofts makes a clear case for travellers who want space, kitchen flexibility and beach access in the same booking. Select the building and room type deliberately, especially if direct pool access is a priority or if travelling with children who need a separate bedroom. The strongest comparison is between specific apartment plans. The broad serviced-apartment label leaves too many important differences hidden.

Check where the pool sits

A rooftop-access suite and a ground-floor pool suite connect to different shared spaces. The terrace photographs for the chosen category are therefore more useful than the general pool gallery.
