The price is only part of the comparison
APK Resort’s recent guest accounts are unusually divided. A July 2026 couple liked the space, strong air conditioning and bathtub in their Standard room, while a separate Booking.com guest reported cleaning and maintenance concerns. Those are not two versions of an identical stay: room condition, expectations and price can lead travellers to very different conclusions.
The property is on Ratchapratanusorn Road. It is important to keep it separate from APK Resort & Spa and similarly named properties around Patong. The word APK alone is not enough to match a review, photograph or map pin. For this review, the relevant address is number 95 and the Agoda listing is APK Resort, not a spa hotel with a similar name.
Why some budget guests are pleased
The July couple’s review describes a room that exceeded modest expectations. The bathtub and effective cooling mattered to them more than an elaborate resort setting, although they found the entrance somewhat difficult to locate. Another Agoda guest in a Standard room in May liked the balcony, furniture and peaceful feeling. These comments support looking at APK as a practical room purchase rather than assuming low price means no useful comfort.
An August 2026 Deluxe guest also appreciated the bed and overall price, while noting dust around a balcony bathtub. The distinction between a Standard and a Deluxe matters: one guest’s bath or balcony should not be assumed to be part of every room. A low headline rate is only comparable when the room, beds and inclusions match what you actually need.

The negative accounts deserve equal weight
A July Booking.com review praised the location but criticised hygiene and general upkeep. A separate April account described bathroom and maintenance problems. These concerns should remain attributed to those guests, rather than being presented as an inspection of the whole property. They are still relevant because they show that a satisfactory inexpensive stay is not the only recent experience.
There is a middle position as well. An April Booking.com guest liked helpful staff, a spacious room and the food, but reported a smell from a nearby drain. That is the kind of detail a broad good-value label misses. A hotel can provide useful space and a pleasant meal while a room or surrounding condition makes the stay less comfortable.
Pool, parking and everyday arrangements
Booking.com lists a swimming pool, restaurant, free parking, a lift and a round-the-clock reception. These are useful features for a budget stay, but the amenity list is not a quality rating. The April guest described the pool as simple but acceptable. That is more realistic guidance than expecting the pool to be a destination in its own right.
Access also deserves attention. More than one account mentions the approach to the hotel, although the comments are not a measured accessibility assessment. If you expect a smooth step-free arrival, confirm the entrance and route to your category before booking. A lift inside the building does not answer how easy it is to reach reception from the street.
A stay to judge room by room
APK can make sense when the rate is modest, the exact room meets your needs and you intend to spend much of your time exploring. It is harder to justify as a premium resort experience solely because a photograph shows a bathtub or pool. The disagreement between recent guests is itself useful information: there is enough variation to make the room choice and current condition important.
Compare current photographs of your category, read both favourable and unfavourable recent accounts, and keep the cancellation terms in view. On arrival, check cooling, bathroom drainage and the room’s general condition before settling in. The case for APK is an affordable base with useful basics; the reason for caution is the recent evidence of uneven maintenance and cleanliness.
