Lamai Guesthouse now appears as Patong Lamai Residence
The former Lamai Guesthouse is currently listed as Patong Lamai Residence at 20/31–32 Sirirat Road. Booking.com uses a slightly different ending to the street number, but identifies the same Sirirat Road guesthouse, while Agoda retains the older Lamai name in parts of its description. It should not be confused with Lamai Hotel or Lamai Apartment elsewhere in Patong.
The location is on the southern side of the Patong area, near the road toward Karon and the Simon Cabaret area. It is not a hotel directly on the beach. That distinction is more important than describing it broadly as a Patong hotel: a traveller expecting to step onto the sand is looking for a different setting.
A basic room choice rather than a pool resort
The Agoda listing describes a small property with 26 rooms. Current booking descriptions list private bathrooms, air conditioning and Wi-Fi, with balcony arrangements varying by room. The practical appeal is a place to sleep and keep your belongings while going out, rather than extensive resort facilities.
Room categories also differ in bedding and space. The booking description separates a smaller single-occupancy Standard from twin and double choices. Do not assume the lowest rate is for two adults or that every room has the same balcony and outlook. For a solo traveller, a compact single may be sufficient; two people need to compare the actual occupancy and beds.
Cleanliness deserves attention
A February 2026 Trip.com guest liked the convenience of the area but felt cleanliness needed improvement. That is one traveller’s account, not evidence that every room has the same problem. It does, however, make room condition a more useful comparison point than the broad claim of a recent renovation in a property description.
The current Booking.com listing also has relatively weak cleanliness and comfort category scores. Scores are not a substitute for the details of an individual stay, but they do not support presenting this guesthouse as an unqualified recommendation. Its case depends on a modest total price and your willingness to accept basic accommodation.
Patong Lamai Residence is worth comparing for a straightforward Sirirat Road stay when the room offer is clear and the price leaves room for modest expectations. Match the current name, correct address and occupancy, and read recent room-specific feedback. The limited detail in current guest accounts does not justify a longer list of promised services or a claim of consistent room quality.
